Alexander joined the School of Historical Studies at the University of Amsterdam in 2018. He conducts research into the history of early modern knowledge management and decision making, with funding from the Leverhulme Trust. In addition to this research, he is a board member at the Amsterdam Centre for Urban History, editor of the Association for Political History’s PhD Newsletter, and writes monthly book reviews for @retro_conflicts on Twitter. He holds a BA in History from King’s College, London and an MPhil in Early Modern History from the University of Cambridge.
