“Energy Governance and Energy Transition Strategy in Italy and Europe after the 1970s: From Oil to Natural Gas”. A SISSCo seminar on a world in need of renewed energy.
(Rome) The conference “Energy Governance and Energy Transition Strategy in Italy and Europe after the 1970s: From Oil to Natural Gas” will be held on October 9th at the MEMOTEF Department of the University of Rome “Sapienza” on Via del Castro Laurenziano 9. The event will feature two sessions — one scientific in the morning and one political-technical in the afternoon — to discuss the challenges of past and future energy crises and the importance of energy transition in Italy and Europe.
Opening remarks will be given by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Prof. Giovanni Di Bartolomeo, and the Director of the MEMOTEF Department, Prof. Donatella Strangio. The interdisciplinary session will host presentations by renowned Italian and international scholars such as Per Högselius, Antoine Missemer, Mauro Elli, Immacolata Oliva and Marta Musso.
In the afternoon, a round table discussion on the future of Italian and European energy scenarios will take place. Participants include Italian political figures such as Luca Squeri, Chiara Braga and Giuseppe Zollino, as well as representatives of leading Italian energy companies: Davide Tabarelli, Luca Schieppati and Enrico De Girolamo. The discussion will be led by Stefano Cingolani.
This event is part of the PRIN 2022 project “Italy’s energy governance in the global economy and politics: the role of natural gas in the national energy transition strategy”, coordinated by “Sapienza” University of Rome, with the University of Naples “L’Orientale” and the University of Salento.
