Coşkun Tunçer is an economic historian with a focus on the history of financial markets and the Middle East in the early modern and modern eras. He obtained his Ph.D. from the London School of Economics in 2011 and has been teaching at University College London since 2013. His current research projects include urban wealth inequality and religious segregation in the Ottoman Empire, the development of stock markets in the Middle East, and the history of domestic debt in emerging markets.
