Bratislava, Slovakia
At a time when historical narratives are increasingly weaponised in political conflicts, the Symposium will examine the antagonistic potential of collective memory and the ways in which it is instrumentalised in contemporary politics. Bringing together scholars, practitioners, educators, and representatives of memory institutions, the programme will explore memory as a tool of political struggle, hybrid warfare, and disinformation.
The three-day event will feature keynote lectures, expert panels, practical workshops, and case studies. A distinctive element of the programme is the Turbo Presentations session, offering institutions 120 seconds to present their work to an international audience.
Participation is free of charge (registration required). Catering is provided during the official programme; travel and accommodation are to be arranged by participants.
