EHS membership renewals for 2021 are now available. As the Society now manages its own membership, all payments should be made directly to the Society; there are two options: credit card via Stripe, or direct debit via GoCardless. (Please note that past direct debits paid to Wiley for EHS membership are non-transferable, and you will need to set up a new direct debit payment, if this is your preferred option).


All members of the Society receive digital access to the Economic History Review via our new website, access to grants and opportunties, and a discounted conference registration fee. More membership benefits will available over the coming months.
We do hope that you will choose to remain a member of the EHS.


You can renew your membership now by following the steps below. You must be logged in to renew your membership.

If you are already logged in to your online EHS account, you can renew here.

If you are not logged in, please do so here. Please note that if you have not logged in before please first reset your password to activate your online account.

  • Enter the Members’ Area from the menu bar
  • Select Renewals
  • Find your preferred membership option (this does not have to be the same membership type that you currently hold) and choose your desired method of payment
  • Complete the appropriate form with up to date information and submit to complete your renewal


If you choose to renew your membership, this will auto-renew annually and be entered into on a rolling basis. You will receive a reminder email one month before your renewal date, giving you the option to cancel should you wish to.
