André is a PhD student in Economic History at the Sao Paulo University. His doctoral research examines the administrative structure of the Portuguese Empire in Brazil, the ‘Provedoria-Mor’, during the 17th and 18th centuries. His interests include political and institutions history, trans-Atlantic trade and taxation. He holds a BA in History from Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo and an MSc in Economic History from the São Paulo University.
