Fernanda Conforto de Oliveira is a PhD candidate in International History and Politics at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID) and a researcher affiliate at the IHEID’s Centre for Finance and Development. Her PhD research examines the first adjustment programmes of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Argentina and Brazil in the post-war era, 1945-64. She is interested in IMF policies, creditor-debtor relations, and the decision-making process of borrowing countries and international financial institutions in the context of post-war Latin America.
