O Rus! Land, the state and societal upheaval in a blacksoil provice: Tambov, 1850-90

Thanks to the Economic Society’s generous and continued support, I was finally able to conduct research in the Russian Federation while visiting the country for a prolonged period of time, which would have been impossible otherwise. The Bursary helped me achieve a substantial part of my goals for the past two years and was instrumental for the completion of my PhD thesis. What’s more, my research includes a good measure of social science methods, such as Social Network Analysis, as well as economic history, so this Bursary was in fact expended for the benefit of an interdisciplinary project.
