Li is a PhD candidate in History at University of Exeter. Her doctoral thesis examines wage labour in gentry households of early modern England. Currently, she is concentrating on the workers of the Shuttleworth family in Lancashire from 1582 to 1621. Her research interest focuses on the living standards of wage labourers in early modern England. She is also interested in gender and women’s history. She holds a BA in History from South-Central University for Nationalities (China) and MA in History from Wuhan University (China).
