The State and Rural Credit Markets in South India, 1930-60

I am grateful to the Economic History Society for financial support in the final year of my doctoral studies. The bursary provided invaluable support by financing both archival visits and seminar presentations as well as granting the financial flexibility to reduce my teaching load and focus on research. During the academic year, I completed two chapters of my PhD thesis and produced a paper currently forthcoming as ‘Do Institutional Transplants Succeed? Regulating Raiffeisen Cooperatives in South India 1930-1960’, in Business History Review. Thanks to the generosity of the Economic History Society, I was able to submit my PhD thesis in early August 2020.
