Leandro Prados-de-la-Escosura is Emeritus Professor of Economic History at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research. His current research interests are economic freedom and well-being in historical perspective and economic growth and distribution in the very long run. He is the author of Spanish Economic Growth, 1850-2015 (Palgrave Macmillan, 2017), Human Development and the Path to Freedom (Cambridge University Press, 2022), and A Millennial View of Spain’s Development.
