Toulouse School of Economics

Yifan is a PhD student in Economics at the Toulouse School of Economics. His doctoral research identifies the cultural origin of son preference in East Asia and examines its effects on missing women. His interests include economics of culture especially the long-run impacts of the Confucian culture, and the historical competition between secular states and religious groups. He holds an MRes and an MSc in Economics from Toulouse School of Economics, and a BBA (Honours) in Economics from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen.
