Mobility, Law and Sedition: The Rise and Impact of Vagrancy in Late Medieval England
The Economic History Society bursary enabled me to continue my doctoral research over a challenging year. It supported me during my final write up, passing my viva, and subsequent edits. Its contributions to basic living costs, as well as access to research materials, allowed me to interrogate the past with more precision – fleshing out, for instance, my chapter on sixteenth century vagrancy. Its resulting stability was vital in ensuring my research was completed, and laid the foundations for my forthcoming publications.
