The governing body of the Economic History Society is a Council consisting of the Officers of the Society, elected, and co-opted members.  To encourage postgraduate students in economic and/or social history to engage with the Society’s activities, Council has agreed to co-opt two student members to serve for a two-year term each.  Council members are expected to attend two meetings per year: in October (usually in London) and at the annual conference in March/April.

Nominees should have at least one year of their PhD to complete from the date of appointment (June/July 2023).

The term of one of the current members has ended, therefore, nominations are sought to fill the vacant slot.

Applications should be supported by a supervisor’s statement which should be sent to the administrators.

Deadline extended to: 21 June 2023.

The President and Secretary will review all nominations, and a sub-committee of Council will select one of the nominees.

Please note that you must be logged in as a member or become a member of the Society in order to apply.
