The governing body of the Economic History Society is a Council consisting of the Officers of the Society, elected, and co-opted members. To encourage postgraduate students in economic and/or social history to engage with the Society’s activities, Council has agreed to co-opt two student members to serve for a two-year term each. Council members are expected to attend two meetings per year: in October (usually in London) and at the annual conference in March/April.
The term of the two current members will end during the current academic year: one in October 2021, the other in April 2022, therefore, nominations are sought to fill the vacant slots.
Note that we would expect any nominees not to have graduated prior to April 2023.
Applications should be supported by a supervisor’s statement which should be sent to Maureen Galbraith.

The President and Secretary will review all nominations, and a sub-committee of Council will select one of the nominees.
